What will our itinerary be?
A month prior to your charter, D’Berg Travel will put you in contact with your captain and crew to discuss all the details of your trip. If you have a special occasion you want to celebrate, any excursions you wish to go on or have any particular spot you wish to visit, now is the time to plan your bespoke itinerary.
Can special dietary requirements be met?
Yes, of course. You will be sent a preference sheet about a month prior to your charter where you can state any dietary requirements, allergies or dislikes. Your chef will then customise a menu to suit your groups needs.
What amenities are included?
Most yachts have Wi-Fi available for their clients. Internet connection in the Caribbean isn’t as fast as the modern countries but will support emails and web browsing.
Most yachts come fully equipped with AC, water makers, ice machines and music entertainment systems. Watersports include paddleboards, kayaks and snorkel equipment.
Can we bring children onboard?
Absolutely. A sailing vacation is perfect for families. Some yachts however do have age restrictions. Crew cannot take responsibility for the welfare of young children and will need to be supervised at all times. The catamarans are very stable for both children and adults alike and we can guarantee they will have a fantastic time onboard.
How much do All Inclusive yacht charters cost?
For an all inclusive, crewed yacht charter you can expect to pay anything from $11,000-$80,000+ per week. Factors affecting the rate include time of year, number of guests, year and model of the boat and the size of the yacht. For this price you will have luxury accommodation, all meals, snacks, alcohol, beverages, watersports, cruising and National Parks permits and a crew to look after your every need.
What is not included?
Not included are crew gratuities (15%-20% of the charter rate), optional marina dockage for overnight stays, excursions and meals ashore not provided by the yacht and crew, special requests for top shelf liquor, wines or excessive alcohol consumption and transfers to and from the airport.
How do I book a charter?
Firstly, you choose a yacht and crew to suit your group and budget. D’Berg Travel then puts a complimentary hold on the yacht. A contract is then drawn up between both the yacht and you, the charterer. A 50% deposit is due and a signed contract. If your charter is over a year away, two 25% deposits can be arranged. Once we have a signed contract and your deposit, your charter is then confirmed. The balance is due 60 days prior to your charter starting. Preference sheets (for food, beverages and activities would also be due at this time too.
Should I get trip insurance?
Trip insurance is highly recommended. It can cover delayed/cancelled flights, weather cancellations or cancellations due to accidents or unforeseen emergencies, the cost of hotels and other expenses incurred during the delays.
What are the cancellation terms?
In the unfortunate event of you having to cancel your charter, all payments are forfeited. However, if the yacht can re-book a different charter for the same dates, a partial refund may be issued. In some cases, a future date can be chosen and the deposit can be held.
